Korouoma Canyon and Frozen Waterfalls

The nature reserve of Korouoma is a must-see during your visit to Lapland!

Our guide will pick you up for the all-day trip from the office Access Lapland in Rovaniemi, and drive you for 1.5 hours to the pristine nature reserve of Korouoma. The drive itself through the untouched nature is already magical!

Korouoma offers an idyllic hike of 5 kilometres in total, in the Arctic nature. The frozen waterfalls of the Korouoma Canyon are set on a millions of years old bedrock. You can also choose to slide down the path on the little slopes!

Your professional outdoor guide will teach you about the unique flora and fauna found on the Arctic Circle, show you how to prepare an open fire on a frozen land, and cook a delicious Finnish outdoor lunch. The barbecue lunch will be prepared without any matches or lighter – which is something you will also get to learn! All of our guides are highly experienced and professional, and will be happy to answer all of your questions regarding the waterfalls, and the Lappish nature in general.

Once you arrive at the end of the Canyon, you get to admire the frozen waterfalls and even see the most brave-hearted hikers climb down the icy waterfalls!
